HOW WE GROW

100% Aquaponics

INDOOR FARMING

We plant our greens indoors in vertically stacked layers using aquaponics in Hong Kong. Grown in a climate-controlled environment, our design simulates a natural ecosystem where fish, beneficial bacteria, and plants interact to convert organic fish feed into fish growth and plant accessible nutrients.

SUSTAINABLE FARMING IN HONG KONG

Using nature as our inspiration, we have developed modern agricultural systems to produce greens based on nutrients from fish waste utilizing the method of aquaponics. We believe our method of cultivation addresses most of these unsustainable practices, and we are strongly committed to minimizing our impact on the environment.  Without the need for quality soil, we can grow to produce anywhere.

HOW DOES AQUAPONICS WORK?

A method of using fish manure to provide nutrients that helps the growth of vegetables. We use organic fish feed to feed our fish and they produce ammonia within the fish waste which is converted into nutrients by nitrifying beneficial bacteria. We have created a fully balanced ecosystem which maintains a stable pH and nitrate levels despite the variability of climate change.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AQUAPONICS & HYDROPONICS?

We believe aquaponics is a natural evolution of hydroponics. Aquaponics and hydroponics vary in finance, difficulty, materials, and set up. The main differentiating factor is the fish (or lack of fish). Aquaponics uses fish to provide nutrients, and hydroponics uses formulated solutions.

In terms of farm design, Aquaponics is more complicated than hydroponics because it involves a lot more variables and elements; on the other hand, aquaponics resembles nature a lot more. We believe that it provides a more complete and sustainable agriculture solution that can benefit both the human and nature.
